Ember & Ash is a New American Gastropub built on a principle: everything they serve touches flames.
Led by husband-and-wife duo Scott and Lulu Calhoun, Ember & Ash has carved a special place in Philly’s culinary scene. Rooted on bustling East Passyunk Avenue, they’ve evolved from their wood-fire beginnings into a bold new era of gastropub dining—pairing one-of-a-kind techniques with global flavors and Philly soul.

Their recent transformation came to life during The Chef Conference in April, where they teamed up with the American Lamb Board to host an unforgettable industry afterparty. Scott crafted a one-night-only menu that only Ember & Ash could pull off, showcasing dishes like lamb tongue fries with smoked tomato harissa ketchup, and smoked lamb ribs glazed in a coco chili rub and shallot agrodolce that we’re still dreaming about. It wasn’t just a party; it was the start of their new evolution as a gastropub.

And you could feel it—the community’s love for Ember & Ash, and even more so for the people behind it. Scott and Lulu aren’t just running a restaurant; they’re building something bigger: a home for adventurous flavors, deeply rooted inspiration, and a loyal neighborhood that shows up for them just as much as they show up for their community.
